But in recent decades we have learned that this must be done in a conscious and respectful way with the environment. At Soho Boutique Hotels we are actively committed to sustainable tourism. That is why we seek the convergence of all these elements: enjoyment, sustainability and respect for the local environment.
Improving the efficiency and quality of processes is a constant challenge. Otherwise, it would have been impossible to achieve in such a short time something so important and transversal, where not only the organizational capacity of the chain plays an important role, but also the high degree of awareness that all of us who work in it have for the environment. We believe that by being more aware of our impacts and our actions, we can grow more responsibly and efficiently and help the businesses around us to grow in the same way.

Energy and Resources

Use of renewable energies

We are working on the implementation of renewable energies in our hotels to reduce our carbon footprint and promote a cleaner future.

Energy
efficiency

We are continuously improving the energy efficiency of our buildings through exhaustive consumption control and the optimization of energy systems. We are incorporating the use of aerothermal energy, which reduces heating costs by up to 50%, and photovoltaic energy. We have modified all the lights in our hotels for more efficient and long-lasting LED bulbs, and we are analyzing energy prototypes to make more efficient use of all the energy in all our hotels.

Water
Management

We rigorously monitor our water consumption and constantly seek methods to reduce and optimize its use. We also try to raise awareness among our customers to use water responsibly during their stay.

Reduction of plastics and carbon footprint

In our quest to reduce plastic waste, our carbon footprint and the sustainable use of natural resources, we have taken numerous steps: Installing electric chargers in all our parking lots to promote electric mobility. Eliminating single-use plastics and replacing them with more efficient packaging. Use more and more Kilometer 0 products to reduce not only our carbon footprint, but also that of our suppliers.

In our commitment to sustainability we inform you of the measures we take to reduce our footprint. Of course we do it with minimal consumption. The information can be found through an Instagram filter, available on the mirrors in our rooms.

We manage our resources in a more efficient and orderly manner in order to facilitate recycling and reuse processes. We also try to raise customer awareness so that they can differentiate between their waste and help us all to separate them in the most efficient and effective way.

Recycling and
waste reduction

We have implemented robust recycling programs in all our hotels to significantly reduce the amount of waste generated and sent to landfills. For example, we have replaced single-use amenities with reusable dispensers.
We use 100% organic and natural coffee that is grown on 100% traceable organic farms and stored in biodegradable and compostable capsules in less than 26 weeks.

Supporting local
communities

We actively participate in initiatives that support local communities, contributing to the economic and social development of the areas in which we operate.

Volunteer

We encourage our employees to participate in volunteer programs to support various community causes.

Sustainable Purchasing

Certifications and Recognitions

Local suppliers

Our commitment to zero-mile purchases: We partner with local suppliers to reduce the carbon footprint associated with transportation and support local economies. We also require a social and environmental responsibility charter from all our suppliers.

Organic products

We prioritize the purchase of ecological and sustainable products to minimize our environmental impact, such as the use of paper from sustainable forests.

We have obtained internationally recognized certifications that validate our sustainability efforts, such as ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 50001 in all our hotels with Bureau Veritas.
We have the Q of Quality in several of our hotels and we are certified as hotels: Safe Tourism.
